Myrtle Beach Summer Fishing Report

outfitter - Jeff Lattig by Jeff Lattig on July 13, 2016 (Updated: January 3, 2024)
Georgetown Redfish- Rates

Summer is in full swing and  it’s down right HOT here in Myrtle Beach.  Heat indexes over 100 degrees calls for fishing at daybreak.   On our most productive fishing days we have been using light tackle rods rigged with gulp baits.  The Redfish can’t resist them and it just makes for an easy lure.  By late morning we have been changing to live bait and moving to deeper holding areas as the mercury rises.  Flounder fishing has been fantastic on all sides of the tide near shorelines and creek mouths.  Big bull Redfish and sharks have been biting under big bait pods as they wash into the inlets and bays as the tide rises.  The next few weeks we will be focusing on fishing for Tarpon, as well as Redfish on the tailing tides.  Keep checking the Captain’s Blog for more Myrtle Beach Fishing reports, tips and tricks for fresh and saltwater fishing.
